A second chance
moths in the moonlight
buds in the trees
tiny purple flowers
in the green.
A walk renewed
a place to stand
a solitary moment
in full view.
I don't need your disease
your confusion
your hate.
I don't need arms
or soft caresses
where no love has ever been.
Eternal energy
the great I am
the steps in the sun
no shadow falls
music plays
and I am one.
Eternally grateful.
Struggling sweat
to climb the mountain
to look over the edge
at a rippling pool
and to dive
to fly
unhindered
by the weight of you.
baby can I get a smile?
